Chongqing Chicken Hot Pot (重 庆 鸡 公 煲) @ Kuchai Lama
Chongqing Chicken Hot Pot @ Kuchai Lama is one the branch in Malaysia (another located at Kepong). There are lots more branches in Hongkong and China.
There are 4 types of hot pots to choose from – chicken, pork rib, beef and seafood. We ordered the chicken hot pot for 2 person (RM16). If you have more people to share, you can order the medium size @ Rm22. You can even choose the level of spiciness. I picked the one with less spicy because I can’t take spicy foods.

The chicken hot pot I had where made out of ayam kampung, so it wasn’t fat and oily. The sauce tasted abit like Bak Kut Teh but not as gravy as BKT. It was served with rice. And we can even add soup on it. We tried medium spicy soup.

Other than that, you can also order additional veges and meats, ranging from RM1 to RM4 per plate.
Just add those into the pot and you can have your meal like steamboat.

not really fantastic at all… the spicy one was ordinary… i went there for dinner, the service was bad, and guess what? instead of getting chicken meat, i got 90% chicken bones!! am i pissed?? sure am i!! what the manager said even pissed me off more!! he said they used the best chicken and went off when i asked him y do i only get bones…he didn’t even offer a better explanation to think i’m stupid or what?? RM22 for bones??? definitely not worth it…
kampung chicken is not meaty. supposed to be tender and less fat.

i totally not agreed your point of view , i like the taste very much .furthermore , there are always crowded with ppls inside restaurant…most of the ppls like it .
Kampung chicken should be bonely and it’s cost much more expensive than normal meat chicken.
i try b4… but not in kuchai ,,, kepong also got thier outlet (behind standard charted bank)
